Working from one supplied shot is a constraint, not a compromise, but only if the shot carries the right information. The frame that photographs best is frequently not the frame that extends best.
What the frame has to carry
- 01The product lit so its material is readable, not just its shape.
- 02Enough resolution at the label to survive being cropped into.
- 03A neutral ground, so the product can be placed rather than re-lit.
- 04Every face that any later frame will need to show.

What gets built from it
Once a base frame holds up, the rest of the system (the gallery, the modules, the store, the ad units) is a question of composition and consistency rather than of repeatedly acquiring new photography.
The point is not to avoid shooting. It is to shoot once, knowing exactly what the rest of the system will ask of the result.
